Twin Lakes Camp Resort: Fishing and Fun in Florida

Twin Lakes Camp Resort is a 10-acre park nestled on a peninsula between Lake King and Lake Holley in the Florida panhandle. Created 50 years ago, the beautiful lakes cover 850 acres and offer great fishing.

Holley Lake is home to bream, bass, crappie and a few smaller gators. Separated by a dam is King Lake’s 580 acres, holding the bigger, large-mouth bass and boasting the Florida state record bass for a three-year span. The RV Park offers views of the beautiful lakes from any site, and thanks to recent renovation of the facilities, the RV sites feature full hookups.

There are 13 pull-thru sites that span 75 feet to 100 feet in length. There are also many buddy sites for those traveling with friends. Guests can pull in and savor the views from the windows of their vehicles.

Awesome Amenities at Twin Lakes

The bathhouses are tiled wood grain with inlaid nature murals. The copper sinks are set on authentic whiskey barrels with waterfall faucets, and the lighting is appropriate bronze piping. The porch’s outside lighting consists of original Coleman lanterns converted to LED. The cowboy grill at the quaint country store always burns with a faint smell of oak wood. Inside, you’ll find a country gift store with items for your loved ones.

Many people stop for the night because Twin Lakes is only eight miles off the interstate and stay for days or even weeks when they discover this quiet, restful paradise. While fishing and sightseeing are popular, the most common pastime is relaxing! There is almost always a light breeze coming off one of the lakes, and with over 300 trees, there’s ample shade. The cable TV line-up is second to none for hospitality, with a complete sports lineup of all available channels as well as Digital and HD.

The swimming pool is located just off the porch of the Activity Center, which has a kitchen perfect for small RV clubs or just a couple families. If you’re traveling with friends that do not yet have an RV, there are five country-elegant Suites named after local history markers. You will find original paintings from a local artist over each fireplace corresponding to the name of each suite.

The grassy areas are surrounded by split-rail fencing and discretely marked for the play of pets or people. Best of all, you will find the southern hospitality of the managers who have been known to offer evening songs from the porch. DeFuniak Springs prides itself as the little town with “fun” in the middle, and this park is no exception. The historic district has over 200 buildings on the national historic registry. It is 30 miles north of the top rated “World’s Most Beautiful Beaches,” golfing, fishing charters and designer outlet shopping located in South Walton County.
