Rising from the cornfields of rural, northwest Ohio is Sauder Village, a memorable destination that transports families from the modern, fast-paced life into a different reality — a world that celebrates unforgettable sights, sounds and memories from the past. Sauder Village in Ohio brings the 1920s to life.

With the completion of a spectacular new addition to the Historic Village, guests can now experience the Roaring Twenties at a new 1920s Main Street. This one-of-a-kind project replicates a portion of a 1920s Main Street typical to Northwest Ohio. At this permanent addition to Sauder Village, visitors can see how people worked and spent their hard-earned leisure time during the 1920s.

Sauder Village’s 1920 Main Street takes visitors back in time.

Roaring ’20s

As guests stroll down an authentic 1920s Main Street, they will be able to stop by the theater to take a peek at what’s playing on the big screen, explore a hardware and grocery store, check out a Model T at the service station, and sip a cherry phosphate at the soda fountain. Visitors can see the latest fashions at the dry goods store, meet horses at the livery, buy candies at the candy shop, and have fun exploring the bank, barbershop, fire station, depot and even a speakeasy (open for special events/experiences only). The “Roaring Twenties” will come to life through personal stories, authentic reproduction buildings and historical artifacts.

While at Sauder Village, families will also enjoy taking a free train ride, meeting farm animals, and taking a “Walk Through Time” to experience life in Ohio from 1803 through the 1920s! There are also many beautiful gardens, craft shops, and unique shopping opportunities throughout the Village.

A trip to Sauder Village would not be complete without delicious, home-style food from the Barn Restaurant and Doughbox Bakery. The 87-site Sauder Village Campground is a great spot to enjoy fishing, sharing stories around the campfire, riding bikes around Little Lake Erie and the new wetlands or playing in the Splash Pad.
