Reflecting Good Sam’s commitment to excellence, three Good Sam Parks nabbed awards at the National Association of RV Parks and Campground’s 2015 Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo, held November 3-6 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
More than 900 representatives from private RV parks, suppliers and service providers attended the event, which featured seminars, meetings and an expo with 110 vendors at the Ocean Center.
Handed out during a November 5 event at the Ocean Center, Park of the Year honors recognize parks that offer “an extraordinary guest experience as a result of all-around excellence in operations, professionalism, marketing, customer service and industry involvement,” according to ARVC.
Honored Good Sam Parks:
- Normandy Farms Family Camping Resort (pictured above), Foxboro, Massachusetts, won Large Park of the Year (category limited to parks with 101 to 250 sites).

Staff members of River’s End accept Plan-It-Green Award.
River’s End Campground & RV Park, Tybee Island, Georgia, received the Plan-It-Green Award in the small/medium-size category (0 to 250 sites). This recognition honors parks that have shown leadership and innovation in developing environmentally friendly campgrounds.
- Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve & Campground, Santee, California, won the Plan-It-Green Award, large/mega-size category (251-plus sites).
Other RV parks that netted awards:
- Beaver Dam Campground in Berwick, Maine, won Small Park of the Year (up to 100 sites).
- Jellystone Park at Kozy Rest in Harrisville, Pennsylvania, won Medium Park of the Year (101 to 250 sites)
- Carefree RV Resorts’ Sun-N-Fun Carefree RV Resort, Sarasota, Florida, won the Mega Park of the Year award (500-plus sites).
ARVC’s recognition of Good Sam Parks’ is a testament to the company’s high standards of quality and outstanding customer service. Each of the 2,100-plus Good Sam Parks across North America is required to meet minimum standards based on the organization’s exclusive Good Sam Rating System.
