Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne and his Wood Brothers Race Team will carry the colors of the Good Sam Club in the upcoming NASCAR Sprint All Star Race on May 21.
Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Good Sam Club and Camping World, said “I was thrilled to have Bayne and the Wood brothers on board for a big weekend in April and look forward to the All Star race the No. 21 Good Sam Club Ford Fusion at Charlotte”. The No. 21 also will carry a Camping World logo in the All Star Race but the most prominent space on the car will go to the Good Sam Club, which Lemonis said is most appropriate. “The one million members of the Good Sam Club and the thousands of Good Sam RV parks nationwide are the real all stars,” he said.
For the sport of NASCAR and for the legions of fans of Bayne and the Wood Brothers, the sponsorship from Good Sam Club fits right in with the spirit of the club, whose members join together for enjoyable excursions.
Eddie Wood, co-owner of the Daytona 500-winning team, said he’s excited to have Good Sam Club come on board. “It’s a really good opportunity for both of us,” Wood said, adding that the relationship got off to a great start when Lemonis chose a paint scheme similar to the one that Wood’s father Glen Wood had on his 1958 Ford convertible race car.
“I’m really proud of the history of this race team, so the paint scheme that Mr. Lemonis chose gave us an immediate connection,” Wood said. “It’s really cool.”
Wood pointed out that Bayne won’t be able to drive his Daytona 500-winning car because it’s on display at the Daytona 500 Experience until next February, but he doesn’t see that as a problem.
“We’ve got another one that’s just as good, only in different colors,” he said.
