The Five Best National Parks

For many years, our country’s beautiful national parks have been a favorite destination for camping trips. Below is a list of a few well-known national parks for RVing, based on scenery and activities, which we hope will aid in the decision of your next RVing trip.

1)     Glacier

Located in northeastern Montana, Glacier National Park is one destination worth a couple visits. The North American RV Park & Yurt Village is a great place to stay and it’s not far from Sun Road, the most scenic road in America. There are activities abound as well, such as hiking Logan Pass, and Grinnell Glacier.

2)     Yellowstone

Old Faithful alone would be enough to make this a top national park, but there are many other geysers, mudpots and natural features. All will be amazed at the natural elements in this park. Conveniently located just outside the park, Sierra Meadows RV Park is a great home base for exploring this region.

3)     Rocky Mountain National Park

In terms of scenery, no park beats Rocky Mountain. The vistas are spectacular and there are many trails to appease campers of all ability levels. The Winding River Resort is perfectly placed in this magical landscape. From a mild hike around the campground, to the dangerous and humbling summit of Long’s Peak.

4)     Yosemite

Another exceptional national park is Yosemite. While more intrepid hikers will want to climb some of the more challenging points, such as Half Dome, if you’re traveling with young children, try the short and fairly level one mile hike to Mirror Lake. Plan on staying at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park for a couple days, you can get lost here (in fun and literally, be careful).

5)     Sequoia

Sequoia is in a class by itself in terms of incredible vegetation. The giant sequoias will amaze anyone not familiar with these massive trees. In addition, there are a number of trails, such as the Congress Trail, in which the trees are named for former political figures. Set up base camp near the southernmost point of the park, Lake Isabella RV Resort.
