Murdo, SD a little town with big attractions is located off I-90 (Exit 192) just east of the SD Badlands. American RV Park & Motel is a perfect overnight stay or destination hang-out while touring the sights. There is full & partial RV hookups, concrete pads for big rigs and a grassy area for smaller units and tenters. The motel offers 43 rooms and 4 cabins.

The Pioneer Auto Museum is right next-door. The name alone understates the full scope of this 42-building indoor/outdoor museum. Among its nostalgic treasures are: the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard; Elvis Presleys motorcycle; plus many more muscle cars, antique tractors, gems & collectibles.

Old West 1880 Town, a few miles west of Murdo (I-90 Exit 170), is another premier SD attraction. Step back in time as you pass through the entrance into a 14-sided barn stuffed full of antiques. Out on Main Street explore more than 30 original buildings authentically furnished with thousands of unique relics and valuable collections some originating from the General Custer and Buffalo Bill period. At the end of Main is Saint Stephans Church where one can pause and reflect upon heritage past and bright hopes for the future.

Ready for a break from the dusty trail? Head for the Rusty Spur next door to American RV Park & Motel. Western memorabilia entertains all while enjoying cool drinks at the bar, steaks, buffalo burgers and a variety of other Rusty Spur menu items. The SD prairie town of Murdo has plenty of photo opps take time to rest, relax & explore.
