Must-See Events Bloom in Kerrville, Texas, During Spring

A cross atop a hill against a blue sky.

Kerrville’s year-round tourist-friendly weather makes it the perfect place to visit anytime and enjoy the numerous events that make up our calendar. There is always something going on for visitors and residents alike. But there’s something especially magical about visiting Texas Hill Country around Kerrville in the Spring. Days start to get a little longer, wildflowers start to bloom and it’s just the perfect time to get out and explore.

Our spring season begins with events centering around Easter weekend, such as the Easter Fest & Cook-off, which features live music, good food, washer pitching and family fun throughout the day and is free to the public. Easter Services at the Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden go on all throughout the holiday weekend with one of the best views in town. You will find your time there fulfilling both spiritually and visually.

Kerrville and the Kerrville area is also blessed to be home to a very talented arts community. With two local theaters to choose from, VK Garage and the Hill Country Arts Foundation, as well as the Cailloux Theater, known for bringing in Branson style entertainment as well as housing Kerrville’s very own symphony, you are sure to catch an amazing production while you’re here.

Art festivals make up a big part of the Kerrville spring experience.

Still looking for more reasons to stay in Kerrville? Then Memorial Day weekend is the weekend for you. The Texas Masters of Fine Arts & Craft at the YO Ranch Hotel & Conference Center and the Kerrville Festival of the Arts held on the streets of downtown are each an artisan’s dream chock full of art, craft-made furniture and delicacies. You’re sure not to leave empty-handed or hungry, we guarantee. While perusing downtown, be sure to stop into the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center for the Southwest Gourd Fine Art Show. This juried art show is as one of kind as it sounds, and you will walk away saying “I can’t believe that’s gourd!”

We of course can’t forget the famous Kerrville Folk Festival that kicks off Memorial Day weekend and goes on for eighteen days, officially ushering in summer. This singer/songwriter festival is the longest running event of its kind and is a beloved pastime for many visitors to our area. We encourage you to come and experience all that Kerrville has to offer! Visit the Kerrville Convention & Visitors Bureau website for more information on all the ways to stay, play and have an adventure in the Capital of the Texas Hill Country.
