If you prefer to be out on the links instead of on the lake, visitors can choose the public course, Cedar Creek Family Golf Center, or South Shore Country Club which is semi-private.
Cedar Lake’s annual 4th of July festival, Summerfest (34th annual; July 2-5, 2015) is a fun event for the whole family.
Lake of the Red Cedars Museum, open during the summer months, is on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum houses 11 special exhibits highlighting Cedar Lake’s history and consists of 14 rooms featuring period settings.
The nearby Indiana Dunes offers year-round opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, including fishing, swimming, cross-country skiing, hiking, and birding.
