St. George: A Gateway to Northern BC

The largest city in Northern British Columbia, Prince George is centrally located in the province. Here, you’ll find the amenities of a larger city along with instant access to picturesque wilderness and outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, golf and camping.

Planning a visit? Stay at Bee Lazee RV Park & Campground.

When entering the city, be sure to wave at “Mr PG,” a whimsical 27-foot-tall statue that symbolizes the importance of the forest industry to Prince George. There are myriad attractions in the Prince George area for the adventurous and the history buff.

The Exploration Place offers interactive and historic exhibits, with a strong focus on science and nature.  Learn more about the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and its importance to the area at the Central BC Railway & Forestry Museum.

Prince George offers fantastic freshwater fishing in any of the numerous lakes and rivers and opportunities to cast a line from just off the road or deeper into the wilderness. Prince George also has great trails that allow hikers and bikers to travel corridors explored in pioneer days or to the top of beautiful viewpoint or waterfall.

Camping opportunities abound with local RV parks and provincial parks and lakes offering campsites.

Additional attractions not far from town offer a myriad of opportunities for the adventurous. An original homestead from the early 1900s, Huble Homestead Historic Site has many buildings and interpretive displays to explore. Noah’s Ark is an exciting place for animal lovers and families to visit. An evening out for stargazers, The Prince George Astronomical Observatory offers the opportunity to gaze at the stars through one of the largest telescopes in Canada, or any number of smaller telescopes.
