Nearby state parks include Weeki Wachee Springs, Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge, Withlacoochee State Forest, Conner Preserve and Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Preserve. Finally, for golfers, there’s the Silverthorn Country Club or the Hernando Oaks Golf and Country Club. Each lies within 15 miles of the city center, and both feature varied course designs that will that challenge and appease all skills levels.
