RV Weekly Round-Up (Feb. 6-12, 2010)

Check out these highlights of RV-related news, events and video from the past week.

1. USO of NC goes mobile with tricked-out RV: Barry Smith of the New Bern, NC, Sun-Journal reports on a spiffed-up RV generously donated to the North Carolina USO by a WWII veteran. This mobile unit will be taken to military installations across the state where the USO of NC doesn’t already have permanent centers for troop support.

2. 30th annual Edmonton RV Exposition & Sale: The 4-day event at the Edmonton EXPO Centre (formerly Northlands Agricom) began Feb. 11 and features 380,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space. More than 400 RVs will be displayed, with booths for RV accessories and a Passport to Prizes event sponsored by the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) of Alberta. 3. Heartland RV Pays $306K for Fleetwood Brands: Brand names for travel trailers and fifth-wheels once made by Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. now belong to Heartland Recreational Vehicles LLC. The Elkhart, Ind.-based towable manufacturer bought the Fleetwood trademarks from the bankrupt Fleetwood Enterprises for $306,000 in a transaction that was finalized this week, as reported by Marilyn Odendahl in The Elkhart Truth.
