Your Alberta Adventures Begin at Riverview Campground

Minutes from Rocky Mountain House A bridge arches over a muddy river.

Nestled along the North Saskatchewan River in Alberta is Riverview Campground, a year-round retreat just minutes from Rocky Mountain House and amazing adventures.

Rocky Mountain House is known as “Where Adventure Began” with the story of the Rocky Mountain House trading fort. Follow in the footsteps of Indigenous peoples, fur traders and legendary explorer David Thompson, a 14-year-old who came to Canada with the Hudson Bay Company. Highway 11 was dedicated in his name and passes through some of the most beautiful scenery in Western Canada and still is the place “Where Adventure Begins!”

Amazing Hikes

Clear Water County is a prime destination for amazing hikes. Strolls along nature trails to long winding trails through various terrains offer great hiking and biking for all levels. Guided tours are also available in the area. Stunning Abraham Lake, never disappointing, with rolling hills and the Canadian Rockies, is highly popular with hikers of all levels all year-round.

But there is also plenty more to do: golfing, boating, horseback riding, quadding; the choices are endless and all just minutes away from your spacious RV lot.

Riverview Campground is center to everything Alberta’s Clear Water County has to offer but also offers many activities without leaving our park. Our campground offers great fishing, canoeing and even swimming when the temperatures are high and the river is low. All of this is just a few minutes’ walk from your campsite! Anglers have been successful at catching Rocky Mountain whitefish as well as rainbow trout.

Truly a family-friendly campground, we have plenty to keep the younger ones entertained. Kids love our modern playground. Our Peddle Go Carts will keep kids amused and give them plenty of exercise! If that’s not their forte, perhaps a game of one-on-one basketball or a game of disc golf is preferred.

And for the burgeoning fisherman/woman, our Children’s Fishpond is stocked annually and is a great place to spend time with your little ones. Bring along a picnic lunch for added fun.

After a day full of these activities snuggle up by the campfire, sit back and gaze up at the sky. Our location makes the perfect open-air venue for all things nighttime. Depending on the season, you’re almost guaranteed to spy something amazing; stars and constellations, meteor showers, the Milky Way and even viewing the Northern Lights. Don’t forget your binoculars and camera!

We’ve got Glamping! No RV no problem! We’ve got you covered with our Outfitters Tent. Not your average tent, this one comes equipped with mosquito netting for warm summer nights and a wood stove to take away the chill on those cooler evenings. Our tent sits on a wooden deck with a porch, has a private firepit, picnic table and is surrounded by trees!

Whatever the activity, be it alone or friends and family, let Riverview Campground be the place “Where your Adventure Begins.”
