Port Huron KOA

Camping may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to spending time with you mom on Mother’s Day, but it sure can be fun. This weekend we spent our second Mother’s Day in a row at the Port Huron KOA here in Michigan.  My mom and I had campsites on opposite corners, and my sisters each rented a full service cabin right across the street from our campsites.

There were 8 adults and 8 kids in our group.  This KOA offers many activities for the kids.  Batting cages, mini golf, go-carts, bike rentals, basketball courts, sand volleyball, outside in-line skate rink, family movies in their own little theater, and planned activities on the weekends.  There is also a pool and bumper boats in season.

There are things for adults too. You can rent a golf cart, enjoying evening walks around the large campground, or rent a bike for 4 (much harder than it seems).  You can go visit downtown Port Huron and visit the museums or lighthouses.  There are also places for fishing and boating along the coastline.

Many types of campsites are available.  Rustic to super sites.  Those of you who have read my blogs know I that I a full hook up kind of girl.  So I just had to check out one of the super sites.  It was a corner hook up, paved pull through.  It also had a stamped concrete pad, sun shelter, above ground fire pit and cable tv.  Now THAT is my kind of Rving !

Until next week,
