The Citrus County Sams lend a hand in west-central Florida

Since the start of the Good Sam Club in 1966, members have always been eager to lend a hand, and that’s especially true among the club’s nearly 1,500 Good Sam chapters throughout the United States and Canada. Chapter members across the continent contribute thousands of hours each year to raising money for worthy causes.

Take Florida’s Citrus County Sams, for example. Last year the chapter donated $1,200 to various charities, including Dogs for the Deaf, Camp Boggy Creek and a west-central Florida rescue mission known as the Path of Citrus County. Pictured presenting their donation to the Path are, from left to right, Nelson Sutherland (wagon master), DuWayne Sipper (Path executive director), Adele Jacobson (secretary), Kathryn Sipper (Path development director), Doris Kelley (treasurer), Jerry Miller (vice president) and Al Romagnolo (president).

The Path offers safe shelter and emotional and physical support to people in need of housing, food, hope, dignity and direction. After receiving the check from the Citrus County Sams, the Sippers took the chapter officers on a tour of the rescue mission.

“We are so fortunate to have our health,” says Adele Jacobson, “and the members were happy to share with those less fortunate.” Founded in 2002, the Citrus County Sams unites 70 members who meet at monthly RV outings for fun, fellowship and charitable activities.

Like the Citrus County Sams, you can make a difference in your community as a member of a Good Sam chapter—and have a great time doing it! Find a chapter near you at GoodSamClub.com/chapters.
