Oregon Downpour

This is still very “fresh” in our memories. On recent trip to the Oregon coast just north of Florence we encountered a deluge of rain. I don’t mean just rain I mean “wild torrential rain” that hits upside down and backwards! Not even able to get out of our little 24 ft. Motor Home we decided to pull in at South Beach State Park and find one of the few campsites not under water. I crawled up on the back bed and directed him in. He jumped out and quickly plugged in the electric.
We spent a nice day then playing games, napping and hoping it would quit. We realized we were leaking up front above the queen sized bed…..”a little” which made us wish harder it would stop…..
Nothing to do but pack in towels by the leak and crawl into our nice dry bed.

Next morning in the sunshine we had sopped up and thought we had it all and got ready and took off. The first time he braked…..”whoosh” I got hit in the face with a bucket of water. That caused me to jump up rather fast. More stopping and sopping and now ready to take off again…..(we weren’t out of the campground yet). Another hit in the face with not quite as much water…..and stopped again! I said, “OK now I’m paid back for whatever it was I did”! So then quite sure all the water had come forward from lurking back in the corners and now I’m ready with a towel where it came out……So we turn on to 101 and flop! His full cup of coffee upends on my feet!
