Nature and City Life Coexist in Eugene, Oregon

Home to the University of Oregon, Eugene is the Beaver State’s second leading city, awash in festivals, museums and cultural events. This is Track Town USA, the home of the the famous Oregon Duck track team and the place where alumnus Phil Knight started a small shoe company called Nike.

The entire city is maintained as an urban forest with more miles of trails than any city its size in America. The university campus functions as an arboretum, with over 500 species of trees. Eugene is laced with hillside parks and gardens and the Willamette River is ideal for float trips.

The surrounding Willamette Valley has evolved into an award-winning wine region noted for its pinot noir viniculture; more than one dozen wineries operate with a thirty-minute drive of Eugene.

The Oregon coast and America’s greatest expanse of coastal dunes in America is an hour’s drive away at the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and the popular Cascades ski resorts of Mount Bachelor and Hoodoo await an hour in the other direction.
