While many are putting away their swimsuits and sunscreen, Jekyll Island is still enjoying the fresh air and outdoor activities. With the summer crowds gone and so much to do and see, fall is the perfect time to explore this barrier island on Georgia’s coast.

Regardless how you have fun, Jekyll Island Campground is an ideal base of operations for a good time. Here are a just a few of our fall favorites. Located near miles of beach, Jekyll Island Campground has all the making of a great coastal getaway.

Here are some of our favorite activities.

St. Andrews Beach Park

Get closer to nature and your family. Just a short walk from Jekyll Point, St. Andrews Beach is a spectacular place to celebrate the season with migratory birds and playful dolphins. Bring a picnic and enjoy the show.

Ranger Walks

This isn’t your average walk in the forest. These guided tours trek through one of the Jekyll Island’s most diverse habitats featuring majestic bald eagles as well as area hallmarks such as alligators, turtles, and the great blue heron. Updated seasonally, the program changes frequently to highlight the island’s everchanging natural beauty.

Horton Pond/Tupelo Trail

Bring your camera and love for nature. Horton Pond is a place where wildlife thrives, and guests are captivated. An observation deck offers prime views of birds, turtles, and alligators. The Tupelo Trail is a 0.7-mile loop that showcases some of the island’s most remarkable maritime plant communities.

Boating and Fishing

From dolphin sightseeing tours and airboat rides through the marshes to deep sea fishing excursions and inshore charter fishing, Jekyll Island is a boater’s and fisherman’s paradise.
