2012 Cleanup Days
The Good Sam Club’s annual Cleanup Days are scheduled for May 19-20, with hundreds of local Chapters and thousands of members devoting a day or the entire weekend to picking up litter from North American roadsides, campgrounds, parks, beaches and waterways. For the past 16 years, club members have been getting together to tidy up public lands in anticipation of the summer travel season. Chapters across the nation are encouraged to select a campground, park, or other public land to pick up branches and trash.
This year’s Cleanup Days will be sponsored by Camping World, where Good Sam members now enjoy savings of up to 30% on RV accessories and installations. Camping World encourages members to bring their full bags of trash to a Camping World SuperCenter where dumpsters will be made available for trash disposal. Stick around for a while and enjoy Camping World’s GrillFest, a celebration of all things barbecue at America’s largest retailer of RV supplies, services and new and used RVs. At this exciting spring event, you’ll enjoy free refreshments (while supplies last) along with sweet deals on new barbecues and accessories.
As an added incentive, Chapters that fill at least 10 bags with trash may enter to win $25 Camping World merchandise certificates for each Good Sam family membership in the Chapter. To enter, each Chapter should send an email to your state or provincial Good Sam director by May 23 indicating how many bags your Chapter filled and attach a photo of your members and their bags.
So start planning how your local Chapter can get involved with this year’s Cleanup Days activities. If you aren’t a Chapter member but would like to pitch in, contact the Good Sam director in your state or province. They’ll put you in touch with a participating Chapter that will grateful for your help. A complete list of directors along with their contact information can be found on the Good Sam Club website. Simply click to select a state or province on the online map to view a list of directors in your area. Note, you will need to log into your online Good Sam Club account to view this information.
