Fort Desoto Florida – RV Today

A popular destination for travelers is always the beach, and Fort De Soto, Florida is home to one of the annually top ranked beaches in the country. With it’s clear water and white sandy beaches it’s hard to argue a reason not to come to Fort De Soto. For the RVer you can park your rig at Fort De Soto Park just minutes away from the acclaimed beach. A good side trip from Fort De Soto would be to take a ferry over to Egmont Key where you can take a tour of a wildlife reserve and snorkel in the clear waters.

Fort De Soto Park is at the far southern tip of the city of St. Petersburg, Florida. This park, operated by Pinellas County, is made up from five offshore keys, or islands: Madelaine Key, St. Jean Key, St. Christopher Key, Bonne Fortune Key and Mullet Key (which is the main island). Today all are connected by land to each other. The island group is accessible by toll road from the mainland. The park is a ‘gateway site’ for the Great Florida Birding Trail.Below is a Park Map showing details of the area.
