Emerald Desert RV Resort: Constructing the RV Experience

It was a busy summer for Emerald Desert RV Resort in Palm Desert, Calif. Since closing the 2012-2013 winter season, construction took place across the resort in the form of new luxury resort villas, RV sites, and dedicated pickleball courts.

“Emerald Desert RV Resort has always been known for its luxurious resort-style amenities and array of events, but this past summer our team took things to the next level,” remarked Emerald Desert General Manager, Lesley Marr. “We can’t wait for our new and returning guests to start enjoying these additions.”

Construction kicked off with new RV sites located along the south end of the resort. RVers seeking a little extra space, take note: the recently completed RV sites are four of the resort’s most private and spacious. These sites enjoy a limited number of neighbors and sight lines to the fountain pond. This brings the total RV site count to 255.

New sites weren’t the only capacity increases made this past year. In an effort to respond to changing guest demands, two two-bedroom villas were redesigned into studio and one-bedrooms equipped with luxury finishes including custom cabinetry, granite countertops and flat screen TVs. The additional villas were completed November 2013. Emerald Desert RV Resort now houses a total of twelve luxury villas.

In response to the growing popularity of the relatively new sport, Emerald Desert recently unveiled brand new pickleball courts. The resort replaced an existing tennis court to accommodate three of the badminton-sized pickleball courts. Experienced players and those just learning the game will be thrilled to hear that weekly matches, resort tournaments and on-site lessons are all slated for the 2013-2014 winter season. For the active RVer, Emerald Desert also features a remaining tennis court, two outdoor pools, three spas, a putting green, a driving range, a fitness center, and bocce ball courts.

As temperatures around the country continue to cool down, Emerald Desert is just heating up. With weekly activities and special events, there is a match for all interests and activity levels. Some of the resort’s most popular upcoming events include the Rhinestone Cowboy New Year’s Eve Party, Space Number Nine: The New Motorhome Music and Comedy Show, Emerald Luau, and the Divas of Rock and Soul Dinner Show. The very popular Saturday Muffins and Mimosas Brunch has also made a return appearance to the delight of guests.
