A huge exhibit tent housed hundreds of booths selling all kinds of RV gadgets plus a well-stocked Camping World store. Outside the tent, hundreds of RVs of all shapes and sizes, both motorized and towable, were on display. And Rally-goers got to really experience NASCAR thrills by driving demonstration motorhomes around the fabled 2-1/2 mile track – just so they avoided the precarious NASCAR banks by staying below that yellow line!
Rally entertainment was first-rate, starting with the legendary Kenny Rogers on opening night, who thrilled guests with his renditions of many of his 120 hit singles over the years. Saturday night’s show began with a bang with fireworks and a parachutist landing right on cue in front of the stage carrying the Good Sam flag. Popular television star, Broadway actress, and country singer Reba McEntire put on an incredible show, featuring many of her award winning top 10 hits, and of course her friendly commentary and interaction with the Rally audience. McEntire’s new television show, Malibu Country, debuted the night before her Rally performance, and a taped version was shown after she left the stage.
On Sunday, guests were treated to a spectacularly exclusive fireworks show on Lake Lloyd, located right in the infield of the track, followed by a screening of the movie RV, starring Robin Williams.
Hundreds of military veterans were recognized on Sunday morning when they marched behind the flag of their particular branch of service in the Rally’s Veterans’ Salute, sponsored by Coast to Coast. They were further honored by an aerial flyover.
With all of the exciting events that took place at the last of the three 2012 in Daytona along with the picture-perfect weather, Rally-goers couldn’t help but to enjoy their time spent at this event. To give RVers a glimpse into the fun had, the Daytona Rally slide show is now available to view online.
