Chocolate Reigns in Hershey, Pennsylvania

Giant Hershey candies give off a surprise.

This has been “The Sweetest Place on Earth” since 1904 when Milton Hershey built a chocolate factory here to take advantage of the local dairy farms, the crystal clear streams and the industriousness of Pennsylvania Dutch people. You can experience the wonders of chocolate at Hershey’s Chocolate World with tours, tastings and a chance to create your own candy bar.

Milton Hershey built a picnic park for his employees and more than 100 years later that is now Hersheypark, world renowned for the heart-stopping thrill rides among its 68 attractions. ZooAmerica next door is a walk-through wildlife park with more than 200 native North American animals. Milton also wanted a “nice garden of roses.” That is Hershey Gardens today, with 23 acres of botanical splendor.
