Beginning in 2013, GoodSamCamping.com’s expanded online travel tools will empower you to find the RV park or campground that meets your specific travel preferences along the way and at the end of your journey. Whether you’re planning a long trip from park to park, or simply seek a long-term place to stay, our brand-new search will enable you to find the right match.
Do you drive a 46-foot bus conversion? No problem—our search filters will show only big-rig parks near your destination. Eager to see which Good Sam Parks lie along your route? Our soon to be live map search will show the RV parks located along the highways, byways and interstates you’ll be driving. Zoom in to get a close-up view of all the discount Good Sam parks, RV services and Camping World stores in a specific area, and scan the map to find what lies in your path.
Search Engine Power
The Find a Campground feature puts all of the information 2,100 Good Sam Parks at your fingertips, placing these parks in preferred order when you comb through our database of more than 14,000 RV parks. Not only do Good Sam Parks meet high standards of quality based on our three-numbered rating system, but they offer the 10 percent member discount to Good Sam Club members.
After logging on click on Plan a Trip and select Find a Campground. From here, you can start your search by entering the area you’re visiting. If you have a specific RV park in mind, you can fill all or part of in the Facility Name and find your match.
You can also narrow results and hone in on finding the perfect match by using our various filters. One option allows you to search campgrounds based on the Good Sam Directory Rating System, the three-number grade that assesses campgrounds by facilities, cleanliness and visual appeal. If immaculate restrooms are a must, then search parks in order of their restroom ratings, with perfect 10s showing up first. If amenities are a priority, select parks that have high ratings in this category. The same goes for visual appeal.
If you prefer, re-sort the results by distance. If you’re traveling to Disneyland and don’t mind a little driving, you can search for campgrounds within a 200 mile radius of the Magic Kingdom’s Anaheim, California, home. Conversely, you can narrow that search down to parks within a 25-mile radius of your destination.
Hone your search even more by using our search filters. Click the Pets box, and the search will show only the campgrounds in your search area that allow animals. Refine your search even further by showing only parks with perfect facilities ratings.
If you’re particular about age restrictions or simply need a park that has swimming facilities, we’ll help you weed out the parks that don’t meet your needs. With 33 filter categories to choose from, you’ll be able to customize your search to your liking.
Introducing Map-Based Search
Coming soon, you’ll be able to look up parks through our new Map Search. Simply enter a city and state or zip code, and you’ll get a map of region you’re visiting including the locations of nearby Good Sam Parks, which are shown by pins bearing the smiling halo-topped mascot. Click on the campground icon and a window will pop up showing the campground’s ratings, contact information and icons indicating whether it offers Wi-Fi or is pet-friendly. Also included is a link to the park’s details page, giving you a complete guide of amenities, features and RV facilities.
Add a shopping spree to your itinerary by finding one of the 100 Camping World SuperCenters across the United States. Just look for the pins with the distinctive blue “CW” icon. A camera icon indicates a popular attraction, and a brown icon indicates means parks not affiliated with Good Sam.
This state-of-the-art map search gives you a bird’s eye view of your trip. A handy geolocator shows your location so you can determine your relative position to RV parks and other destinations. Use the satellite view to see the kinds of terrain you’re visiting.
Get a clear picture of the attractions, recreation opportunities and cities that lie in close proximity to your planned route or destination. Use our search filters to show only the types of RV parks you’re looking for, and zoom in for more details about the region. Slide along the map on the computer screen to get the “lay of the land” before you’ve even turned your ignition.
