Back to Nature at the Homosassa River RV Resort

If you’re considering Florida as a vacation destination, chances are you’re picturing places like Orlando, Epcot Center, Disney World, Tampa, Busch Gardens or the tropical beaches in the Florida Keys. But the Sunshine State has a wealth of natural attractions off the beaten path for visitors to explore – including caves, natural springs and the Everglades.

Escape the hustle and bustle of Florida’s many tourist destinations and experience all the natural beauty the state offers with a stay at the Homosassa River RV Resort. We are situated near Citrus County’s three picturesque state parks – the Withlacoochee State Forest, the Chassahowitzka River and Coastal Swamps National Park and the Crystal River Preserve State Park.

Bring your binoculars for some spectacular bird watching – our grounds are just steps away from the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park. Cameras come in handy when you explore the natural hiking trails as you’re sure to see bobcats, cougars, flamingos, deer, otters, bears herons, manatees and more frolicking in the natural setting. Boat owners enjoy cruising the Homosassa River which provides spectacular freshwater fishing and snorkeling for scallops, or head out to one of the area’s many bays for saltwater fishing on the Gulf of Mexico.

Fishing in the creek

Formerly known as Turtle Creek – after the streams that flow through our property – our park has 222 full hookup sites with access to DirecTV services. Book a creek-side site for a chance to catch a largemouth bass or bluegill from your front door. There are no boats allowed on our creek, so feel free to fish the day away without any disturbances from watercrafts. Our on-site fish and scallop cleaning station is ready and waiting for all your fresh catches whether you fish the creek, the river or the gulf.

Beyond the attractions provided by mother nature, our resort has plenty of amenities to keep our guests entertained. Our guests enjoy relaxing swims in our heated pool, plus rousing games on our two shuffleboard courts and two horseshoe pits. In our clubhouse, we have several billiards tables and a band area where our guests enjoy pickin’ and grinnin’ plus impromptu jam sessions.

Our social calendar becomes a whirlwind of activity in-season. Turn neighbors into friends by joining in our bingo and card games, singing karaoke together or dancing the night away at our luaus and sock hops. Our guests also get to know one another by sharing meals at our winter fish fry, our bi-monthly breakfasts and lunches, our dinner and a movie nights, our Thursday potlucks and our holiday parties. For even more community fun, guests are invited to participate in our park-wide yard sale and our street golf tournaments.

Aside from fun, Homosassa River RV Resort is well equipped to see to our guests comfort. Our grounds feature a small store that we keep well stocked with ice, sodas, chips, candy and ice cream. We also have a commercial, open-to-the-public laundry facility on-site where you can do your own loads or take advantage of its wash/dry/fold service. As a rally-friendly resort, our sizable clubhouse features a partial kitchen and plenty of space for events.
