RVing is Freedom

Freedom and Dives

There is so much freedom associated with going RVing. I remember asking a friend what it was really like being a full time RVer.  He said he felt like a weight was lifted off of him when he sold everything and moved into his motor home and that he never felt like going back to a house. There was an urgency he felt to begin this way of life well before retirement age. What great advice because who knows how long we’ll be here to get to enjoy all this. Don’t count on getting these experiences some day, but do whatever you can to get them now. What a fantastic feeling it is to know that within 20 minutes you can pick up and be headed to a new destination.  I just love the “out of the way” places and restaurants that aren’t part of a chain. Like that guy on TV with the spiked blonde hair who eats at the Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and has so much fun doing it! We visited a terrific little pizza place in Sante Fe where they roll the dough in corn meal. It really gives the crust a crispy and almost a “sweet” taste. After one of these adventures to a restaurant on the “Dives” list, we got back to the RV and I asked Randy to get me an aspirin. A minute later I hear, “Oh, man!” coming from the bathroom. I asked, “What’s the matter, Honey?”  He said, “I took it!” OK. I used to think it was just my memory that was fading…  I’m glad we didn’t wait for retirement age to start going out to play. We still have so much life to live! I guess we will just continue to float through this life feeling free in our RV and experiencing as many Dives as possible.
