The mile-high city of Denver combines world-class culture and cuisine with spectacular surroundings. Head over to one of Denver’s many museums to explore art, science or history. Visit a brewery, winery or distillery to sample the local flavors.

Cruise along the Trail Ridge Road, the highest contiguous paved road in the United States, for an unforgettable scenic drive, or stop along the way to take advantage of the park’s 300 miles of hiking trails. Wildlife is abundant, so keep your eyes peeled for deer, elk, bighorn sheep, foxes and more. Plus, Colorado’s state parks offer a variety of recreational opportunities throughout the state.
Boating Opportunities
Simply want to go for a cruise? Hitting the water in a vessel is a breeze. From Grand Lake to the Blue Mesa Reservoir to the 150-mile-long Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area, boaters have plenty of choices when it comes to finding a spot to launch their craft.
Year-round Fishing and Hunting
Featuring over 2,000 lakes and 8,000 miles of rivers, anglers will have no trouble finding excellent fishing spots. Fishing enthusiasts in search of trout will find plenty of it in the Fryingpan River, while walleye and smallmouth bass teem in the Horsetooth Reservoir, Boyd Lake State Park and Carter Lake. Hunters will get the opportunity to bag whitetail deer in the grasslands, and mule deer and elk in the mountains. Sportspersons also enjoy a variety of small game species, upland birds and waterfowl.
