Holiday Camping Recipes

Camping, Holidays and Food go hand in hand, which is why it is always fun learning new Holiday Camping Recipes. So when you and your family are out camping for the holidays, you can try some new (to you), yet tried and true recipes that are bound to make it to your “Favorites” and “Must-Have” lists for future trips. Here are a few examples of some exciting holiday camping recipes, featuring main dishes, side dishes and a tasty dessert.

Shish Kebabs– Skewer your favorite combination of meat (steak, shrimp, chicken, etc), veggies (carrots, squash, zucchini, mushrooms, etc), and fruit (pineapple is amazing grilled) either at home (before leaving) or at your camp site. If you choose to wait until you are at your camp site, everyone can assemble their own and make custom kebobs, adjusted to their unique tastes (likes and dislikes). Then just toss them on your campfire grill topped with your favorite grilling sauce and turn often to brown everything evenly and slowly.

As a fun and yummier alternative to hot dogs (and just as easy), try the Grilled Kielbasa with a barbecue glaze sauce. For the whole recipe and to view the simple and easy method for making them, click here.

A couple of must-have sides include Mom’s Potato Salad (click here for full recipe) and the super easy and yummy Grilled Corn with Parmesan Butter.

For dessert, try the Grilled Banana S’mores, which is basically just a banana slit length-wise down the middle (but not all the way through to the bottom), stuffed with marshmallows and chocolate chips, then put on the grill on top of a sheet of foil, for 3-5 minutes or until your stuffing is adequately melted. Then top with whatever yummy and crunchy toppings sound good to you. All you need are the ingredients below, a campfire, and some foil. This is not only super simple, but also tasty and not too terribly bad for you.

One of the best parts of camping is all of the yummy eating that goes on. So take a shot at one or more of the above-mentioned Holiday Camping Recipes and let me know how it turned out:  if you and your family liked it, loved it, or hated it. Bon Appetit!
