A South Florida RV vacation?  In the summertime?  What were you thinking?

Festivals, of course!  Nestled on the banks of Lake Okeechobee, Brighton RV Resort is just a stone’s throw away from some of the Sunshine State’s most exciting summer festivals.

Head to Lake Worth in early June for the International Mango Festival (June 11, 9AM-1PM), and stick close to Brighton RV Resort on June 18 (4-7:30 PM) to visit Okeechobee’s Art & Wine Walk 2016.  Each downtown business will feature an artist showcasing their art work or music, and will offer guests wine tasting, appetizers and promotional offers.

Need plans for July 4?  Many a South Florida town close to Brighton RV Resort — Wellington, Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Jupiter, Royal Palm Beach, West Palm Beach — celebrates in grand style.

The Village of Wellington hosts its Patriotic Pool Party at the Wellington Aquatics Complex (regular admission applies) and its free July 4 event complete with live music and entertainment, bounce houses, face painting, petting zoo, traditional games, food trucks, vendors and Free Bingo sponsored by Humana.  The evening is topped off with a Zambelli Fireworks display at 9:15 PM.

Port St. Lucie will host Freedomfest, a family-friendly July 4 tradition at the Civic Center from 2-10 PM, while the Stuart Stars & Stripes event (3-9 PM) will include live music, Kids Corner, vendors, bounce houses, pony rides, face painting and food and drink.

Some towns hold multi-day celebrations.  The Town of Jupiter, Juno Beach and Abacoa are teaming up to host July 4th Mega Bash at Roger Dean Stadium.  In addition to a mega kids area, the event combines two American originals — baseball and rock-n-roll.  On Sunday, July 3, the Fort Myers Miracle will take on the Palm Beach Cardinals, followed by a concert by Bon Jovi Tribute Band Keep the Faith, and the Bradenton Marauders and Jupiter Hammerheads will headline Independence Day followed by the Tom Petty Tribute Band Time with Tom.  Fireworks are planned for both nights.

The Village of Royal Palm Beach kicks off its Star Spangled Spectacular July 3 (5-9 PM) with a Kids Fun Zone, Arts & Crafts booths, food vendors and Jimmy Stowe and the Stowaways, a Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band.  The fun continues July 4 at 1 PM at Royal Palm Beach Commons Park, culminating with the Zambelli Fireworks International Show at 9 PM.

West Palm Beach hosts a three-day extravaganza.  Dubbed 4th on Flagler, the event starts Saturday, July 2, with BBQ, Brews & Blues in the historic Northwest Neighborhood.  The food and family fun continues on Sunday, July 3, as restaurants and shops throughout downtown West Palm Beach offer unique specials and delicious dining options.  Then, celebrate Independence Day at West Palm Beach Waterfront from 5-10 PM with live music, tons of activities and the largest fireworks display in South Florida.

There are plenty of fun festivals in South Florida throughout the summer as well.  July holds an array of east coast festival options for everyone.  From the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival’s Shakespeare By The Sea (July 7-10 and 14-17) at the Seabreeze Amphitheater at Carlin Park to the 24th Annual International Mango Festival in Coral Gables (July 9-10) to the Davie Seafood Festival (July 9-10) in Fort Lauderdale to the Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest (July 23) at the South Florida Fairgrounds, you cannot go wrong.
