The Great Outdoors RV Resort - laneFrom the moment you drive through the welcoming gates of The Great Outdoors RV Resort on the Space Coast of Florida, you’ll never want to leave. This place isn’t your average RV Resort; it’s an entire community and an amazing community at that.  The entrance road is over a mile long and winds its way through nature with beautiful homes peaking out through the trees.

The Welcome Center is filled with a friendly staff who will quickly check you in. They hand you a brochure that tells you all about the resort including a map that leads you to your site. As you look close at the map, you will notice that The Great Outdoors sits on 3000 acres. Most of those acres are a gorgeous nature preserve full of wildlife and vegetation.

As you make your way to your site you’ll see smiling people waving at you on their bikes, in their golf carts and cars. You’ll quickly notice that you are waving back. You might even find yourself slowing down a bit, in order to let a family of deer or turtles cross the street in front of you.

Explore

Once you have settled into your site and set up “camp” you’ll want to explore The Great Outdoors. You can take a walk, or a bike ride around the property for miles and miles and never pass the same place twice. On one of these walks you have to pick up a copy of The Happenings.  The biweekly magazine that The Great Outdoors creates in order to let all of its occupants what activities are going on. Trust me, no matter what activities you might be interested in, there is something here for you.

Be Active

If you want to be active you can attend an aerobics class each weekday morning, go to the gym, or take a number of different dance classes. If playing cards is your thing, there is almost every type of card game going on almost every day of the week in the library. Rumor has it that life long friendships often start at these activities.

If you have a canine traveling with you there is Doggie World so your dog can get in some exercise and make some new friends too. The Great Outdoors has two restaurants, a church, with Catholic and non-denominational services, two Jacuzzis and pools, heated and open all year.

They have movie night every Thursday and Bingo every Tuesday. There’s live music every Friday and Saturday night, and entertainment every couple of weeks during the winter. No matter what you see yourself living in in the RV world, they have it here. You can buy anything from a simple RV lot to park your rig on, to a custom built home with an enclosed RV garage, screen rooms to take advantage of the year round sunshine. And enough room to throw a party for all your new found friends, or you can rent a lot by the night, week, or month.

Come and experience The Great Outdoors, where you can stay a night… or a lifetime.
