2012-Rally-ALL3

For four high-octane days this fall, thousands of RV enthusiasts will spread out across the infield of one of the fastest NASCAR tracks in the nation, as the Camping World/Good Sam Rally rolls into Georgia’s capital city and the hub of the South.

RVers are already revving their engines for the October 17–20 Rally at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The Rally staff has likewise stepped on the gas, booking country music legend Vince Gill, California icons the Beach Boys and a pedal-to-the-metal lineup of all things RV.

In the company of fellow RVers and Good Sam Club members, Atlanta Rally-goers can share their passion for the RV lifestyle as they stroll through countless exhibits of the latest gear, tour a vast fleet of recreational vehicles for sale and even have a once-in–a-lifetime experience of test-driving a new motorhome around the illustrious racetrack.

The Rally’s dawn-till-dusk slate of seminars covers everything from RV maintenance to safe driving to Alaska travel and much more. Everyone’s favorite chef, Bob Blumer, returns to the Rally with dazzling recipes and foolproof cooking techniques. Flags4Vets founder and 2012 Good Sam Club RVer of the Year Fred Moore once again leads the Rally’s Salute to Veterans, a celebration of the men and women who served in all branches of the military.

For some tail-wagging fun, the popular Rally Dog Show is back with pets competing for fun, glory and prizes. And J.D. Platt brings his four-legged daredevil athletes to the arena with the incredible K9 Kings Flying Dog Show, starring the world’s fastest Frisbee dog.

Rally-goers can take a lap around Atlanta on several optional motorcoach tours. Attractions include CNN headquarters, the World of Coca Cola and Gone With the Wind sites, plus a Southern-style lunch fit for Rhett Butler at Pittypat’s Porch. Giving back to the host community is a Rally hallmark, and attendees are invited to donate handmade blankets, quilts and afghans to Project Linus, which in turns provides them to local children who are seriously ill or otherwise in need.

When the sun sets, the surf’s up, as the Beach Boys take center stage, fronted by original band member Mike Love. Rally-goers can sing along and dance in the aisles to the familiar strains of “Surfin’ USA,” “California Girls” and “Good Vibrations.” Then they’ll be mesmerized by the powerful lyrics and world-class guitar playing of superstar country artist Vince Gill, the 20-time Grammy winner who returns for an encore after thrilling the Rally audience in 2011.

The race is definitely on for this fall’s Atlanta Rally, so get in gear to reserve your space. To sign up, call 800-701-1399 or visit TheRally.com. Registrations start at just $199*, which includes four days of camping and all the festivities. Ask if you qualify for free or discounted registration, but don’t delay. Space is limited.

*Early bird days and electric are available at an additional cost.
