One event the locals are really looking forward to is the 31St Annual Run to the Sun Car Show March 21 – 23, 2019. Last year more than 3,300 cars and trucks participated, making it one of the largest car shows in the southeast. This event raises money for several charities including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Children’s Miracle Network. PirateLand Family Camping Resort is located about 6 miles south of the venue, right along the Atlantic Ocean.

Many car enthusiasts stay at the campground during the show. PirateLand has full hook-up campsites and park model vacation rentals for those looking for an affordable hotel alternative. The oceanfront location, heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi, and family friendly atmosphere make PirateLand a great place to spend some time outdoors in the spring. Walk around and enjoy the surrounding beauty of hundreds of palm trees, blooming flowers, nautical birds and a wide span of unspoiled beach.

Several members of the PirateLand crew are passionate about cars and helping the community. Integrating these elements led PirateLand to partner with Hot Rod Promotions and start hosting an evening Cruise-In on the Saturday of the Run to the Sun weekend. The event has steadily grown and last year they had over 100 cars cruise-in. The event has helped the campground raise money for local schools’ technology and athletic programs.

March 23rd will be PirateLand’s 8th Annual Cruise-in. It is open to the public so it’s a great way for people to get a look at the campground and all they have to offer. Guests and residents enjoy viewing the cars but there is also music, raffle prizes and an on-site food truck. Whether you have a classic car, hot rod, rat rod, or late model, every kind of show car and truck is welcome to cruise-in to PirateLand!
