Amite, Louisiana isn’t very big on the map. You might easily overlook it if you’re planning a weekend getaway or traveling to some nearby destination such as New Orleans. Yet, its worth the stop if only to stay at the Natalbany Creek RV Park and Campground.

Amite is located in the north-western part of Louisiana, just off of Interstate 55, one of the main roads into New Orleans. It’s less than 90 minutes from New Orleans and just an hour from Baton Rouge.

Natalbany Creek RV Park and Campground is popular, pet friendly and most importantly, kid friendly. Whether you are young or young at heart, you’ll find something to do from an onsite arcade to a lighted swimming pool. In fact, many people in the area rent out the X-Scape Arcade because of all the games it offers. In addition, come and enjoy water recreation, mini golf, fishing, volleyball, basketball, and the Kid’s Playground.

The RV park is especially popular during holidays as they often have special events going on, from visits with Santa to Easter Egg hunts and fireworks on New Years Eve. For many holidays ,we have live music and face-painting by Bubbles the Clown. If you’re looking for something unique to do at the holidays, then check out their festivities.

As the name suggests the centerpiece of the RV park is a beautiful creek where you can go fishing for Large Mouth Bass, Hybrid Blue Gill, Copper-Nose Blue Gill, Channel Catfish and White Perch. Or you can simply pull up a lawn chair and read a book as you take in the beautiful surroundings. The lake makes a scenic backdrop to whatever you’re doing.

It isn’t just kids that have fun in the area or people who enjoy fishing. There is plenty to do for adults, as well, that doesn’t involve a rod and reel. There is a casino nearby and some great restaurants.

The Global Wildlife Center is popular with campers of all ages. It’s little more than a half hour away and is a 9 acre preserve with over 4,000 exotic animals.

Open Year Round

While the winter may mean the end of swimming (although the heated pool is open until December), our RV Park is open year-round and a popular spot for Snowbird campers. With New Orleans just a little over an hour away this is the perfect spot to rest up before or after celebrating Mardi Gras.

Natalbany Creek RV Park and Campground has 120 spacious sites available on cement pads and offers free wi-fi. We also have eight fully furnished cabins with 2 bedrooms and baths.

We are the perfect getaway for your family. To learn more about us visit our website or call us at (985) 748-4311 to schedule your stay.

This is one of the best places we have ever been. A Very relaxing atmosphere and you cannot get better than the management staff there. A vacation every day you are there, and I can’t think of a single holiday they don’t have a special event. New Years 2017 we were there and it had rained and they were supposed to have a fireworks show. After the rain, I figured it would just be canceled. But no, they waited it out and still had the show, and it was a great one! No matter what holiday you visit, there is always something going on. Every season is great and it doesn’t matter the age, there is something for everyone. My Father in Law works for KOA, so we have been to a lot of campgrounds. I can tell you this is the best one I have been too. Raenna Thorne

I live in the Northwest area, (Washington, Oregon) and would love to see some Good Sam RV camping resort to visit in this area. Most of the Good Sam RV area are back East or South.
I’m a skier so I stay in our home area. Any hints you can give us to travel to visit?

    Thanks,
