Berry Queens Float at Blue Magic on Main Christmas Parade

Put on your ballet shoes! This year, Iberia Parish will dance with the sugarplums on the bayou for Magic on Main Unwraps The Nutcracker holiday events for the whole family during November and December.

November:

Magic on MainFind unique gifts for your loved ones at Believe in the Magic: Shop Small (Nov. 10), the Holiday Vendor & Craft Event (Nov. 12) and Iberia Parish’s farmers markets. Various Iberia Parish businesses will offer Shop Berry Frozen Deals throughout November and December to add to the great savings.

New Iberia’s Historic Main Street will play host to Envision da Berry’s “Window Wonderland” from Nov. 28 – Dec. 31. Storefront windows will display festive holiday themed decor in the style of New York City department store windows like Bergdorf Goodman or Bloomingdale’s. This year’s decorative theme will coincide with “Magic on Main Unwraps The Nutcracker” featuring classic textures and subjects from the ballet. Sounds of the Season (Nov. 27) will round out the first month of activities.

December:

Xmas ElvesTravel to the Victorian Era when you tour the Joseph Jefferson Home decorated for the holidays at Jefferson Island Rip Van Winkle Gardens (Dec. 1- Jan. 5). Beginning Dec. 5, Shadows-on-the-Teche will be celebrating in a similar fashion with “merry making” tours. The home will be decorated in 19th century holiday style and tours will focus on family celebrations of the time.

The Iberia Performing Arts League will perform its Christmas production “A Christmas Carol,” (Dec. 1-11).

For the New Iberia Downtown Business Association’s Magic on Main Christmas Parade (Dec. 10), holiday goers can enjoy events throughout the day starting at 7 a.m., including the Teche Area Farmers Market, Food Truck Festival, crafts vendors, Christmas music and performances at Bouligny Plaza, children’s pajama contest, lighting of the community Christmas tree, the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce’s Very Berry Christmas Community Quest, and Shop Berry Frozen deals at participating merchants.

Santa Sightings:

With an abundance of Christmas parades happening around Iberia Parish, the kiddos will have ample opportunities to see the jolly man. Santa Claus makes his first sightings during the Delcambre Seafood and Farmers Market at Bayou Carlin Cove (Dec. 5) and the Jeanerette Christmas Parade (Dec. 4). On Dec. 10, the jolly man will follow the magical elf trail to the lighted Delcambre Christmas Boat Parade followed by fireworks in the evening. The next day (Dec. 11), he will guest star at the Delcambre Main Street Christmas Parade.

With all these exciting events, the holidays are a wonderful time to visit Iberia Parish, because a trip here will certainly warm up your winter.
