The Glades RV Resort - marinaTake a trip back to when life was simpler, sweeter and peaceful country living forged long-lasting friendships. This RV resort is nestled within 500 acres along the Caloosahatchee River, directly west of Lake Okeechobee. The “Big O” is the largest freshwater lake within the Lower 48 and is world famous for its big trophy largemouth bass, black crappie, speckled perch and bluegill.

Although Glades county takes its name from the Florida Everglades, most of the land is prairie type, interspersed with pine forest, sugarcane fields, citrus groves, cattle ranches, palm hammocks and cypress growths. This is a magical part of “Old Florida” that you just have to experience for yourself.

The Glades RV Resort is the perfect central home base for you to visit all the south Florida attractions and events. And although you’re in the country, you’ll never be lacking for something to do, be it hiking, biking or partaking in more activities than you could ever imagine. To put it simply, we have every amenity a RVer could ever want. Our championship 9-hole golf course that is open year-round to the public was designed by Mark Sauger. This 3,178 yard par 36 course is surrounded by live oak trees and broad, rich green fairways of Bermuda grass. There’s lots of character to the course, water features and native Florida landscaping.

Fresh Water Marina

The Glades deep, fresh water marina offers quick and easy access to the Caloosahatchee River. Boats will find safe harbor with all the necessary amenities including 30 and 50 amp service. We also have a boat ramp that allows access for all types of small water craft, canoes, kayaks, and bass boats.  We have fishing docks, cabin rentals, heated swimming pool, golf driving range and a fenced dog park.  There is an activity center with planned activities during season. As well as exercise room, laundry facilities, campfire pit, shuffleboard courts, pickleball courts and a resort library. Crumb’s Country Grill, also open to the public seven days a week year-round, serves the best home cooked breakfast and lunch around. And we’re truly Big Rig friendly – able to accommodate all the toys you can dream up!

The Glades RV Resort - wildlife, craneMany of our guests enjoy the natural eco-tourism which is just steps outside your door. The area is a big draw for many bird watchers and nature enthusiasts. The 2,000 mile Great Florida Birding Trail is located here too. Every year in March, The Hendry-Glades Audubon Society stages the Big “O” Birding Festival where participants can expect to see well over 100 species of birds. The many local wildlife preserves – including Babcock Ranch, Dinner Island Ranch and Fisheating Creek – offer many opportunities to view eagles, herons, alligators, black bear and even the endangered Florida panther.

So, whether you decide to “do-it-all” or nothing at all, The Glades RV Resort, Golf & Marina provides plenty of room to stretch out, relax and enjoy the peaceful Florida countryside.
