Junipers Reservoir RV Resort is a green oasis in the midst of south central Oregon’s High Desert. Spectacular views of mountains, forests and the reservoir are everywhere you turn.

Junipers Reservoir RV Resort - RV sitesThe resort sits in the middle of KV Bar ranch, founded by the grandfather and great –uncle of current owners John and Teresa Shine. The founders sold the ranch, and about 30 years ago, the RV resort was carved out of the property. John and Teresa were able to buy the ranch – where John spent time as a child – and resort in 2014 and bring the property back into the family.

They live at the ranch and John can be seen herding cattle with his cowboys. About 1000 head of cattle pasture at the ranch each summer.

But with 6000 acres, there’s plenty of room to share with guests. The entire property is open to guests for hiking and mountain biking – vehicular access is allowed in some areas but no ATV’s. Wildflowers are everywhere.

And Junipers was one of the very few private campgrounds listed in the first issue of the Oregon wildlife viewing guide.

And the fishing – the Reservoir boasts rainbow trout and yellow-bellied catfish with the fishing open to resort guests. So bring your poles and worms or flies and put some fish on the grill.

Rock hounding also is a popular pastime in the area or get up a game of volleyball or horseshoes provided at the park.

But even though pristine natural beauty surrounds you, we offer free wi-fi throughout the park. And the town of Lakeview is only 10 miles away with grocery stores, restaurants and shopping.

The park is laid out in an oval with 40-wide, long pull-through sites surrounding a central large, grassy lawn area centered by cedar buildings that house the laundry and the sparkling, tiled 10-rated restrooms. 23 sites are full-hookup with water, electric and sewer. The remainder have water and electric service with a free, easily accessible dump station on site. 28 sites offer 50-amp service, the rest are 30 amp.

There also is a large open-air pavilion furnished with tables, chairs and two grass grills.

The covered pavilion offers panoramic views of the property and is great for RV Club outings, parties and family reunions. There’s even a 26-foot trailer for rent if someone in your party needs a place to stay!
