It’s that time of year.  The kids are getting restless, summer is near and not a moment too soon.  You can’t concentrate, anxiety is rising, spring fever has taken its hold on you.  Time to get away!

We have just what you need on the Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast.  It’s been a long hard winter and it’s time to engulf yourself in sunshine, crystal clear waters, white powder sand, warm breezy nights and activities galore.  Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast is not just another pretty face though.  Just look at the many available festivals:

15th Annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival – Foley, Alabama

May 2 – 4 – This festival begins on Thursday at 6 pm with the balloon glow.  Friday and Saturday enjoy live music, local arts and crafts, delicious food vendors and much more including the world famous Disc Connect Canines.  Check out the balloon displays and learn more about this amazing hobby.  If you are the adventurous type hop on in and take a tethered ride.

Hangout Music Festival – Gulf Shores, Alabama

May 17 – 19 – This is a combined three-day star-studded set with the backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico.  Bring your sunscreen because you’ll be dancing and singing all weekend long in the sun, sand and surf.  After you’ve worked up an appetite you’ll have your choice of over 30 different food vendors to quench your palate.

Red, White and Blues Week – Pensacola, Florida

July 10 – 13 – This is a bucket list experience.  If you are a land lubber you can catch the show on Pensacola Beach.  Bring your favorite beach chair and umbrella and have some fun in the sun.  If the water is more your style bring your boat or rent one and head on out to Santa Rosa Sound or the Gulf of Mexico.  Toss out an anchor, bring your favorite raft and get ready to have your world rocked.  There is nothing quite like watching these magnificent pilots and machines flying overhead while playing in the Gulf.

More Fun and Activities

Of course, there are plenty of water and beach activities to indulge in.  Travel by water or land and explore the local hangouts and fun beaches along the waterways.  Maybe you’re more the fishing type.  Try your luck on an offshore fishing cruise.  Adventurous?  Give jet skiing, parasailing or skydiving a try for a little adrenaline rush.  Bring your clubs and enjoy one of the many championship golf courses. Ahoy RV Resort will be more than happy to help you organize activities for your perfect getaway.

Whether you are looking to plan a family vacation, romantic get-a-way, or an all-about-me trip, Ahoy RV Resort is the perfect place to call home.  Recently opened in October 2018 their centralized location makes it easy to get anywhere on the Gulf Coast.
