1. College Park

Starting Point • Entertainment, History

In addition to its proximity to the nation’s capital, College Park is home to the University of Maryland. A shuttle ride can take visitors into Washington, D.C., to visit historic sites, cultural institutions and scenic attractions. During summer months, College Park has activities of its own. Duvall Field hosts Family Movie Night under the Stars, and the University of Maryland features a July 4th Celebration Concert and Fireworks.

2. Annapolis

Annapolis shares its 350-year history through its colonial history, maritime customs and an educational background dating back to 1696. Annapolis is home to the United States Naval Academy and St. John’s College. As the capital of Maryland, its vibrancy and charm offer visitors a wide realm of entertainment, dining and shopping options. Renowned as the center of sailing and boating in the Mid-Atlantic, the city showcases its maritime roots at the Annapolis Maritime Museum.

 

3. Salisbury

Salisbury is one of the largest cities on Maryland’s peninsula and welcomes visitors to enjoy what is known as the heart and soul of Delmarva (the region encompassing Delaware, Maryland and Virginia). The Wicomico River is its heartbeat, and its new riverwalk showcases the city’s stunning location next to beaches and a bay. Water runs through Salisbury’s downtown and its city park.
